So 21 matches in and the cup games are about to start for most of us.  Thus begins the real tough part of the season, when injuries and suspensions step up a gear.

But who are those teams and players that you don’t tend to hear about, unless they are in your own group, who have been standing out from the rest?

Who has the best defence in Ireland, for example.  What player has scored the most goals?

The team with the best defence in Ireland, in terms of goals against is Leeverpool FC in 5.5.  Through the efforts of keeper Adam Hally they have managed to concede just 8 goals all season.  Leeverpool lie six points clear at the top of 5.5.

Other teams to frustrate the hell out of opposing strikers are Ballybard FC and Dynamo Dundrum who have let in just 10 goals each.  This has contributed substantially to DD only having lost one match out of 21.

Maddenstown FC leads the way in terms of goals scored, having rattled the net no less than 46 times this season.   Almost half of these have fallen to their striker Dylan Brady taking 19 goals so far.  Paul Merrick for Div 2's Allbrecht has also chalked up a 19 tally.

Other teams who have been prolific in the goal scoring front are Hellu FC (just 2 slots behind Maddenstown in 4.9) and The Town FC getting 45 each, with Town keeper Eoin Reid only letting in 11 to give them a phenomenal goal difference of 34.

Well done all.
