Congrats to Eire Abu who correctly predicted Milan Baros in the who am i? quiz. As tonights cup games come ever closer i have set myself a deadline of geting this done before kick-off as i fancy my chances tonight and who knows maybe win the bleedin thing. Anyway back to what really matters to you the league and Group 23 to be precise last nights games which were half and half in terms of entertainment and i'll do my best to make you fell you were there breathing in the euphoria. St Arsenal Athletic 2-2 Deise Delights With both lower placed teams within touching of being regulated a win for either team was the objective as the clouds came and darkened the mood for the fans who hoped to see there team rise to glory. Both teams had a 4-4-2 slighlty def and planned on using a balanced attacking style. However it was the away side from waterford who were taunting there counterparts as left winger J.Murphy struck home his second of the season leaving the home side confused after a long passing spell, it seemed that the deise were gonna grab another before the half but it wasn't to be although they didn't have to wait long in the second to see some goal-mouth action as 60 seconds later as star-striker C.Cullen ended the quick counter attack after C.McNulty showed great vision to pick him out of a dis-organized defence. The away side looked to have gained a lead that not even a blind dog owner could lose. But the Staints faithful were soon cheering again as the match clock struck 60 minutes when N.Johnston crosed a beauty to the targetman J.Flanagan who headed home a goal to give team something to fight for and it take long for them to be on equal terms as 6 minutes later L.Fitzgerald took a leaf out of Flanagans book and flicked the ball towards the net from L.Donaldson. The draw leaves St Arsenal 3 points from the drop while the deise side are 2 points from safety. MoM= L.Donaldson(St Arsenal Athletic) B Twente 0-3 Gar-da FC This david and goliath match was something of a spectacle which proved the young guns of the B-teams are not and will never be up to the standard of being in any league and should be taken out to have their own league(or burnt). Why my anger its because in the first 15 mins the away side gained two injuries but could still only register a couple of shots on target. The first goal came 6 minutes after the second half when D.Regan used all of his 16 in FIN to claim his astonishing 10th goal of the season, and just 31 minutes later he got his brace by drove the ball between the posts from a chip by centre-mid K.Clooney this was the security the 2nd place team needed after which they scored another for fun when centre-back A.Donnally jumped higher to head the third of the game from a free-kick supplied by A.Egan and nailing B twente into the relegation coffin. MoM= A.Egan(Gar-da FC) Innisvilla 1-3 Clonblur Dudes This game was pretty much over at the half with the fans wearing the pink jerseys doing the darts dance as the players trunched off to the dressing rooms. 12 minutes into the game H.Martin got the plaudits he deserved after he launched a cross into the box which was met by the right foot of J.Kennedy who just couldn't miss. They gained the second when the clock struck the orthadox 39th minute when C.Regan sent the ball upfield where H.Martin confidently hit the ball goalwards and spurred the ball on to pass the goal line, however the hom side did get a goal a minute later with D.Holland finaly got the goal with the teams 3rd shot on target sadly all the confidence gained from that moment of genious were put aside whe Clonblur Dudes got the final goal 3 minutes after the restart L.Griffen headed his 5th of the season giving the Dudes a much needed lift in there regulation battle. MoM=H.Martin(Clonblur Dudes) St.Pats Ath 1-2 Gayatasaray It was the top side of the league who had a hard job of consolidating their position as they visited St Pats Ath both teams had a 4-4-2(dia) with a balanced attacking style however they differed with there tactics having slightly defensive and slightly attacking respectively. And the league leaders weren't intimidated by the atmoshere as they scored 24 minutes into the game when J.Corcoran unleashed an unbeatable shot from some nice passing play from he Bhoys midfield. With 7 minutes left in the first half St.Pats pulled one back thanks to the ever present striker C.Conroy as he met a P.Magee cross with his head and made no mistake with the finish however 20 mins later he was taken off after he twisted his knee and will miss the next couple of games and the away side used this oppurtunity to pull ahead after R.Fitzgerald headed home a P.Flynn chip. This win surely tightens gayatasaray grip on the Div 4 Grp 23. MoM=S.Quinn(Gayatasaray) Other Results
