Division 3.2 CURRENT TABLE: FC Rage 60 Spartak Charlesland 56 Real Kilmac 55 The Town FC 54 Linden Village FC 51 Dundrum Rovers 48 Greenlawns FC 48
So with three games to go it's still mathematically possible for all of the top 5 to win the league. Any of the top 7 could still sneak promotion. Looking at the league development Linden Village FC, FC Rage and The Town FC have been pretty consistent in the latter stages of the season. Real Kilmac have slipped a couple of places but Spartak Charlesland, the 3rd division newbie, have been quietly moving in the other direction!
Of course Linden Village FC, Real Kilmac and The Town FC finished just outside the promotion spots last year finishing 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively. FC Rage have greatly improved on their 8th place finish last year and look very comfortable at the top of the table with the best defense in the league just not letting in goals lately. And with new striker Armin Schutzhauer banging them in at the other end it's a combination that wins titles.
Newcomer Spartak Charlesland have surprised everybody with the ease at which they're handling the step up in divisions. However with a player named McIver you know the team are always likely to make something out of nothing! His goals have certainly helped the cause but vital to the teams success must surely be the performances of defensive duo Dooley and Kane. Both players are playing at a standard above what their abilities may suggest. If they keep it up for 3 more games Spartak Charlesland could well be playing 2nd division football next year.
But with 9 points still to play for, only 5 points separating 2nd - 5th positions and an upcoming top of the table clash between FC Rage and Spartak Charlesland even Mystic Meg couldn't predict this one. This could be the closest finish in 3.2 for a number of seasons!
May the best team win!
